“Layers of peeling wallpaper, perfect muted tones, torn paper on the floor. A space in decay that we imagined our girl had grown from and was part of the building itself. Her outfits merge with the colour palette of each room – layers of lace and organza grow up her body, torn ruffles of silk and tulle burst out of seams and vintage wallpaper prints combine with soft lace. Her hair is tangled and knotted, braiding and lace from her clothing weave their way up and around her head. Decaying and dying flowers grow out of the peeling walls and cascade down the fireplace onto the remnants of the flat’s previous existence.” DESCEND INTO DUSK by ROWANJOY // a sneak peak featuring florals by Hedgerow / To see more from ROWANJOYs new collection head over to her blog to see the shoot in full and check out her Profile in our DIRECTORY for some background chat and to nab those contact details. Hand cut lace and heavy beading give a couture finish and a twist on a classic vintage bridal style. Each design is perfectly finished with beautiful accessories from Modiste‘s new Hot Metal collection. Gracefully shot in Glasgows favourite inner city pub venue SLOANS, photographer Jo Donaldson‘s rich dark tones really show off this buildings beauty and the details on these Flossy and Dossy designs to perfection. Very excited to share this FASHION+FLOWERS inspiration shoot by TWC Florist Tupelo Tree . . . recently featured in JUTE MAGAZINE + on PhotoVogue in VOGUE ITALIA! ______________________________________________________________________ G R O U N D E D The idea for this photoshoot has been planted in my mind for quite some time, so when I started to organise a collaboration, I knew what to look for. Jade Starmore (the photographer) has such a beautiful and interesting style to her work, Rachael Forbes is well known for her attention to detail with makeup and styling and of course, Emmi Keane had the exact look we were after – long hair with a dark complexion. So with this team, we were able to create the most beautiful set of images… I am a lover of anything and everything wild, foraged and full of life. So when I was choosing what to include in these arrangements, I wanted them to make people think of the wilderness, and of nature. I’ve used lots of twigs and leafy branches, gorgeous deep hydrangeas and even some brambles (which were a little painful to wear!) Emmi was a fantastic model and saw our vision clearly of how to show off these arrangements. Jade suggested light colours for the set and hand made the skirt worn in the photos […]
