Well well well. Time for a blog we think….. Overdue? We reckon so. But this wee post here, came along at just the perfect (chilly) time….
One of our florist friends, I Heart Flowers (go and check out her profile in the Directory!), is holding a festive-y floral-y workshop this week.. and we asked the fine lady, to tell us all about it…….
Its Sophie from I Heart Flowers here.
I’m so excited to tell you about my upcoming floral workshop! Its my very first one, and I’m really looking forward to it! At 11 years old, the first Christmas wreath I made was simple. Just holly tied onto some coat hangers which I’d bent into a circle. It was glorious, and since that Christmas it was decided – I would make a wreath for our door each year. Handily enough, our garden was full of holly trees so the tradition continued.
The wreaths got steadily better each year with the addition of pine cones, berries, tree decorations and a nice bit of ribbon. I always relished foraging in the garden, crunching through the frosty grass in search of the perfect branch or seed pod for that year’s creation. And so I wanted to bring a little bit of that creative joy to you all with my first workshop. I want you to start your own wreath making traditions. To get the rush of excitement when you know its time to start foraging again.
All you have to do is turn up, and bring your wreathing A game! I’ll be providing all the lovely stuff to make your very own wreath – gorgeous scented pine and eucalyptus, rose hips and holly, pine cones and seed pods, and loads of lovely bits and bobs.
We’re holding the workshop in the beautiful and cosy Hidden Lane Tearoom, just off Argyle Street in Glasgow’s West End. Places are limited, so if you haven’t already got your ticket then head on over to the I Heart Flowers shop to book in (you’ll find full details there).
