hey wedding-havers!

so this week we asked our dress-making pals to share their favourite look & tell us all about it … here’s what they had to say!

F L O S S Y & D O S S Y  //  M O D E R N  V I N T A G E

the first one is the Una dress – a relaxed semi fitted style which is comfortable and easy to wear.  It’s made from laser cut lace which is a bit more modern than some of the more traditional laces so would suit a bride who was looking for a touch of vintage glamour but with a modern feel.

the second is the Grier dress which is cut as a classic 1950s tea length style but styled with the little lace cape and with the non ivory base colour it again has a more modern feel.

rowanjoy bridal wear

This year I am seeing a lot of brides choosing to introduce subtle colour into their wedding dresses. Champagne, blush, pale pink and silver are some of the colours being used, whether just in detail or the full dress. Using the colour brings that extra detail and makes the dress even more unique to the bride herself, as a wearer of a green wedding dress I’m all for colour on your wedding day. I love the peach and gold brocade in this dress, the colour adds gorgeous detail to the fifties style and combined with the texture of the lace makes this dress really unusual and unique.

The model with flowers in her hair:
This simple dress from the 1960s is a true classic. Beautiful for a spring/ summer Bride who wants to be unique. Very similar to the Pucci dress worn by Fearne Cotton.
The model with darker hair:
A classic original 1950s short dress will full skirt. This timeless gown looks as stunning today as it would have done 50 years ago. The intricate embroidery detail making this truly one of a kind. Perfect for the vintage Bride.
